Completed Winter 52DC 2008

CE: 97/97/102
RT: 23/23
CT: 13/23
PG: 11/50 miles run

I missed my CT and PG.  Never really had the lazer focus that I had during the Classic.  Hoped it would return once I got into the challenge, but I always felt a bit behind.  I didn’t prepare enough for the winter challenge.  The next challenge starts March 19th.  I will be lazer focused for that challenge.  I will have to be - I’m only counting CEs if they are logged on fitday and I’m going to have my workout plan set well ahead of time.  I was nearing the finish of a full body six week program as this challenge started and I never changed it up until the very end.  I started lifting with a friend and moving a lot more weight - felt great.  I rolled my ankle a couple days ago - swelled up huge - and it has kept me out of the gym for the last few days.  I have been taking it easy, rest, ice, compression, elevation and it’s helping.  At any rate, I have so much more control of my environment now that I live only a few blocks from work and the gym.  No more driving 90 miles a day.  I just need to make a routine / schedule and stick to it.  A week ago I did a body weight routine every morning before work.  I would like to make that stick in addition to a weight lifting program.  Once the weather improves, I’ll be biking to work and the gym.

Need to focus on the right now, however.  Those sound like good goals, but right now I need to get my ankle better and start lifting again.  No reason I can’t do abs even today - okay - deal.  I’ll hobble over there right now.

How is your ankle doing? Good for you for still doing a workout around your ankle, many people would not bother and look at you, getting out there. Nice!

I like your idea of only counting CE’s if they are logged into Fitday in the future and am going to steal it to use too! It’s a great idea!

I’ll look forward to seeing you and in the next challenge and if the blogs are still available I am planning on beginning one. Another great idea from you Fargo!

Thanks, Bibbitt! The blogs will be here! If I need support during the next challenge and the added challenge of logging to fitday - you’ll be my support! Agreed?! I hope a couple others take it up so we can root each other on in that capacity as well. It wasn’t much of a workout - just some crunches… but beats letting everything go to pot.

    Fargo,

Hope your ankle heals fast, I remember last challenge when I broke a couple of toes and really put a damper on my workouts, frustrating, but you will be back at it sooner if you rest and take care of it.

I use Sparkpeople and love it, I give that credit for my weightloss, tracking all my food intake really makes me look at what I am eating. Great idea with the fitday, can’t go wrong there!

Enjoy this little bit of rest, I was thinking of sitting out the next challenge, but think I would miss all the great people here so will probably be in. Like your PG of running, I may add that to mine…although biking weather is here too!

Congratulations on sticking with the challenge to the end.
